It is commonly accepted, although far from clear, that the boardgame Carrom has its origin in Asia linked with the countries India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. After the colonial masters introduced billiard, a game which was prohibitive for the crowd, an alternative game came into existence called Carrom.

Today players of Carrom can be found in the above mentioned countries everywhere, even on the streets. Only in the eighties of last century the game found aficionados in North America and Europe. In the meantime Carrom is a game played worldwide.
